Descartes commissioned research across Europe during July 2021 to assess the changes in online buying habits following the Corona Virus Pandemic. The report investigates the quality of service, the implications of this experience on retailer perception, also looking at consumers’ expectations and hopes for the future, including retailers’ environmental commitments.

The top level findings revealed:

  • 43% of all purchases are made online
  • Just 13% of customers are satisfied with their delivery service every time
  • 68% have had an issue with a delivery in the last three months
  • 71% of EU consumers consider the environment when making an online order
